Food Safety

FOOD SAFETY IS A TOPIC WE SHOULD ALL BE FAMILIAR WITH

The North American Ice Cream Association strongly supports Food Safety Initiatives and is working with numerous government and educational facilities to educate ice cream makers and business owners as to the regulations and methods needed to provide a safe product for their customers.

"While the American food supply is among the safest in the world, the Federal government estimates that there are about 48 million cases of foodborne illness annually—the equivalent of sickening 1 in 6 Americans each year. And each year these illnesses result in an estimated 128,000 hospitalizations and 3,000 deaths."

The Association is working with other food safety organizations and university's to develop an industry standard and an online / live training program that caters to all ice cream makers, large and small.
